Zion National Park 2....

A sudden storm, yikes - click

...today we can finish looking around,
there is a lot to see, on this special ground;
everywhere you look, oh, there's another one,
just so much to see, before we get done.

It's almost hard to imagine the creation of the place,
and the people who lived here, are we the same race?
and the force of water that carved this land so deep,
but I for one am glad, the country decided a place to keep.

...Utah, fifteen miles long, and a half mile deep,
the North Fork of the Virgin River made walls so steep...
...the trails down look dangerous, at least to me,
but people still go down there, to see what they can see.

President Taft proclaimed the land a park for all of us,
once inhabited by Basketmakers, they weren't there to make a fuss,
those people had left hundreds of years before,
even before the Mormons came knocking at the door.

Timpanogos Cave National Monument...

All lit up-click

...Utah, high up in the Wasatch Mountains, an unusual location...
..for a cave.  Found in the 1800s by a hunter, by vocation..
...following a cougar he found there was a cave..
...with rooms quite large, it became the local rave.

I think the surrounding country looks better by far,
it's in American Fork, you can get there by car;
just a little north of Salt Lake City, is where it's found,
so, it you get the chance, why don't you come around.

Rainbow Bridge National Monument...

Here it is, huge.-click

...Utah, 234 feet long, 42 feet thick at the top,
spectacular setting makes this a worthy stop;
carved in the last Ice Age, cutting out the softer stone,
kind of like a Thanksgiving turkey, when all that's left is the bone.

It is the largest in North American by far,
there are some in China and Chad, but you can't get there by car;
It should be treated with great respect,
5 native tribes request that we all accept.
