Winning the lottery

1939 Buick Coupe
  That car up there, or one like it, is for sale at a reasonable price, and I know where.  All I have to do is win the Megabucks, just once.
  Of course there are more practical things I would do first, family for sure and a couple of charities that help people eat, or benefit families of children with autism.
  Other than a new car, not the Buick, there wouldn't be too much change in our living arrangements, maybe a place with more storage and trees.  But then we'd have to dig up the flowers again, nah.
  I realize that the chance I'd have to make these choices are slim to none, but every week I go and buy my tickets; if I don't play I can't win.
  And, I only play Megabucks, none of the great big one that pay out hundreds of millions, I don't have an explanation for that - I just don't buy them.
  It's not a choice I had to make this morning, I didn't have any numbers in last nights drawing.
The new car, Subaru Legacy, with heated seats.
April is Autism Awareness Month

It's not often...

A sign on the congressional parking lot, really!
....that I find something funny (ha ha) about what the government has just done.  In the case of the Debt Reduction, I found some things that are laughable.  Here's one.

Payback is hell.
As you see the people don't think much of what happened.  Actually the people just plain don't like the way it was done; the Democrats were dim witted and the Republicans were repugnant.  This is not what we expect of Congress, we expect, at the very least, for them not to wait until the last possible moment to make a decision that could have been made six months, or more, before.

This is an appropriate sign of our times.
  When we were waiting for the President and Congress to make a decision, we either took a break from the action, or we had to wear a diaper, that's what this sign, above, points out.  Some people may think whoever printed the silly thing made a mistake, and that's not it at all.
Yes!  Even people in public buildings were watching.

This is what the people wanted

Let's go on vacation

Air Control Tower - construction suspended
  70,000 construction workers are now unemployed because Congress failed to get their act together AGAIN.  Add to that that the Government is losing the 1.2 billion dollar taxes that would have been collected on airline ticket sales.  Congress couldn't care less; it's vacation time.  Just one more case of "I've got mine, to hell with you"!
   Nationwide there are 21 million people unemployed, people who would work if there were a job available, some of those would be workers are so discouraged that they've quit looking for work, if those people were added to the "official" figure the unemployment rate would be over fourteen percent.  Congress doesn't care about them either; it's vacation time.
   Our bridges and roads are in terrible shape, gasoline consumption is down so less fuel taxes are being collected (Federal and State).  Those taxes are primarily what supplies funding for highway and bridge work.  The tax structure could be changed, could have been, but of course, Congress is on vacation - they don't care if several hundred construction workers that are unemployed could be working; it's vacation time.
   Do congressional workers and leaders get paid while on vacation?  You bet your sweet bippy they do, how else could they afford to be on vacation.  Should members of Congress care about the rest of us?  The answer, of course, is yes; but it's vacation time!
Rural highway that needs a whole lot of work - too bad, it's vacation time in Congress.
Memorial Bridge.  Crosses the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, Maine.
Build in 1920-1923 in memory of World War One vets, it was permanently closed in July of 2011;
no funding for a replacement for a bridge on US 1!  The bridge originally was on New England
Highway One - that was before the federal numbering system.  There are hundreds of bridges
of this age still being used - it's not safe.
Congress is on vacation.

Congress changes a tire.

Which party is each of these guys in?  Take your pick!
The U S Congress were traveling in a car (I know, I know-that's far fetched, but so is congress), suddenly a tire went flat, it would need to be changed.

The Democrats wanted to call a repair shop and have someone change the tire.

"Nonsense" said the Republicans, we will save money (cut spending) and change it ourselves; so they formed a committee. The "The Flat Tire Replacement Method Committee"; it consisted of several sub-committees, one of them The Joint Orderly Kinetic Enterprise Committee (JOKE Committee), and the other The Fixing, Lifting And Tire Sub-Committee (FLAT Sub-Committee).

The sub-committees could not agree on a meeting place; one place, the regular one, was okay, but the others would have to meet in an upstairs room. Going upstairs was beneath them! We will not go upstairs; the leadership had to form another committee to facilitate the sub-committee meeting arrangements. Meanwhile Congress was out in the hot sun, getting more than half baked!

Suddenly the Speaker of the House had an idea (that in itself is strange), "I'll lift the car, all you guys have to do is get your ass in line and help". Some wanted to help him, but far from everybody, some still wanted the committees to figure things out.

Someone declared "we better hurry up, lunch is served at two, on the second of the month"! Still the committees argued over who would use which meeting room, some of them wanted to call the President for help, others wanted to ask the National Tea Party Headquarters, what could possibly go wrong they wondered. Since no one could decide, they just sat there!

So for the want of a FLAT JOKE agreement they were left stranded.

Going about Congresses most important work - reelection. Also notice he's having someone else do the "dirty work".

That "head" tire hmmmmm! Wonder who that could be?

There is....

...something important that we must discuss:
Why do we continue, to preach the obvious?
I guess we've passed so many laws, to outlaw such and such,
that having any common sense, just doesn't matter much.

There are things, I think are stupid, we see them every day,
some of them so obvious, they simply go away,
but the signs are always there, makes me wonder why,
people continue to be reminded, that when life's over - you die.

See what I mean?

I sometimes....

...get the feeling, that somethings out of place,
maybe it just fatigue, from playing a rat race;
or maybe, just maybe, all ain't right with the world,
that because somethings not right - the whole thing unfurled.

But perhaps it just a feeling, innocent enough,
so, why then, am I jumpy, just writing this stuff?
If somethings out of place, wouldn't we all know?
And just how can we tell, how far could this go?
Does this appear to be okay?, Just a cow out for a ride,
but, wait a minute, are we prepared, to take this thing in stride?
Do cows really hitchhike, or did they in the past?
Or are they watching us - while they nibble on the grass?

A wolf in with the sheep? What is going on?
Does the wolf really frolic with the sheep on the lawn?
Or is there something different?  Something out of place?
What's next?  A wolf in sheep's clothing, winning in a race?
Is this guy a gymnast? Or a dancer on a stage?
Or is it someone different, or not acting his age?
We'll never know the answer, we can only guess,
as we go along, living in this mess!

Enjoy

Well I....

...think the issue may be resolved,
one more appointment, the case can be solved;
but that's on Monday, we we'll just wait,
and have some answers, if they take the bait.
This is part of the solution, it's one you probably know,
something is needed, so something is done, it's all part of the show;
of course people looking for answers try a lot of stuff,
you'll never know the answer until:  Finally you've had enough.
And this is the way a "stress test" is solved,
sometimes the patient is the more evolved;
I may know the answer, again I may not,
and I don't want to gamble with the only body I've got.

Have a wonderful day!

This....

...the day, the stress test is nigh,
one things for sure, I'm not gonna do it high.
They will inject me with radio-active dye,
and take photos with a 'plug-in' robotic eye.

Oh, the fun we get, as we grow old,
but the test is better than be covered with mold;
before I go to get that, I'm going to take a walk,
just a short three miles, at that I won't balk.
So, as I tread the mill, I will have happy thoughts,
like shooting the operator, with some double-aughts!
No, that's not right, it may be an innocent,
so...I won't show up, they'll wonder where I went.

Enjoy you day!
