I'll get over it. Won't I?

Three Sisters.  New Sculpture at Bangor Waterfront
Photo by Linda Grant
  Each year for the past several years sculptors from a large number of countries, including the USA, have worked the summer creating art from Maine stone, mostly granite.
  Each year the art is given to a Maine town or city.  I showed a photo a while back of The Cleat, in Gouldsboro (Winter Harbor) from last years work.
  This year the above shown work and several small pieces were given to the City of Bangor for installation, I'll show one more at the end today.
  Dadblasted Daylight Savings Time/Standard Time switches.  Make up our collective minds to do away with this stuff I can only describe as "bullshit"!  If you have a sleep dis-order you know what I'm talking about, it's hard enough to sleep without waking up in a whole 'nother time zone! Stop!
  Well, got that out of the way for this year, or until next spring, it made sense when the government started the crap but they shouldn't have continued it.  But then again I'm not a farmer or a schoolchild.
  Have a nice day everyone.  This is post number 1251, if you're keeping track.
One of the smaller sculptures, I call them "sheep".  The discoloration is rain.

Whoever....

...dreamed up Daylight Savings Time, wether for science or just to get rich,
ought to be hung at midnight , what a miserable son of a b..tch!
This little experiment in mind altering junk,
somehow ends up with the smell of a skunk.

I think there should be one system or other,
there's no reason to fool natures mother;
it makes little difference which one you choose,
just let one of them easy to lose.

One hour of darkness or one hour of light,
at one end of the day, which one is right?
I really don't know, nor do I care,
I'm mad about it, here in my chair.

We really don't need any mind altering junk,
it stinks, it don't matter, it makes me a punk;
so we'll go about our usual chores,
wether or not it's light or dark outdoors.

Let's take a break from the subject at hand,
and do something good, right here in our land,
let's go push buttons, you've got that down good;
is it the purple first or the yellow, which one should..

DST sucks!

The insanity of it all!

Well today is Saturday/Sunday or someplace in between,
and just what time did I get up, that remains to be seen.
Take the present value and subtract fourteen,
add the next number and delete a number in between.

Add the square root of the color of your neighbors cow,
divide by four hundred, let's see what have I got now?
Oh, add the number of tigers in the zoo,
and then you take the next round number (zero - the rest have lines)and add the two.

Now the product symbol of Z on the New York Stock Exchange,
take the lint out of your pocket, now add in the change,
subtract the cats age on her birthday, eleven years from now,
add back in the square root of your other neighbors cow.

So when I got up, I think it was...., no that isn't right,
I forgot to subtract eleven when I went to bed last night!
Oh, wait, now I remember if todays date is an even number,
and I add the zip code for Chicago, subtract or add, I can't remember.

Okay, now I've gone and looked it up,
I forgot, you see, to divide by my pup,
then you take the number of time zones in the world,
Jeepers - my mind is racing like a squirrel.

What were we talking about, what did you ask me?
Oh, you want to know when I got up, is that easy?
Let me see - take the age of the police officer that showed up,
when I dialed 911 and asked them, what time did I get up?

This is dedicated to that brilliant piece of work,
who invented Daylight Savings Time, it's a stupid little quirk;
why in the world do we change time, twice every year,
when Congress stops that act, I will go and cheer.
