And now it's September,....

...and we must remember;
the spirit of each fall,
all eyes are on the baseball.

Some teams at the top have a chance,
of making the series, the big dance,
so with each ball a pitcher may fling,
will increase or diminish a chance for a ring.

The Red Sox seem to go the wrong way,
with each September game that they play,
if they lose each series of the game,
they must find somebody to blame.

Thursday night when there was a chance they would win,
something happened so they'd lose again;
a ball to the infield was hit, and a piece of the bat seemed to go,
so the ball wasn't caught, and who missed the play - Scurtaro

And on Friday, they have earned a way,
to stay on top another day,
the Wild Card list is where they are,
hanging on, can't drop too far.

So here we are, the weekend is here,
will there be an occasion for us to cheer,
as we throw our hopes into the fray,
we'll see if they can last another day!

The ball game!

NOTE:  Because I failed to do my home work, I am giving you a copy of a blog I did in July 2010,
since the Red Sox aren't living up to their "super" billing, it's appropriate now too.

(Expletive deleted)...

...that's the manner of this blog,
the game was played, I should've slept like a log,
the Sox played Seattle in a baseball game,
to the pitcher OK, to the bats go the blame!

The (expletive deleted) guys can't hit the ball,
for two million bucks a year, that can't be hard to call..
put the (expletive deleted) bat on the (expletive deleted) ball!
The (expletive deleted) game is finally over, that may be best of all.

Jon Lester pitched a jewel, the high point is that;
but the (expletive deleted) guys need to handle the bat!
For the money that they earn, it should not be a task,
hit the (expletive deleted) ball! Is that too much to ask?

Boy! They got me going, I can feel the boil,
if it was me I'd throw the bunch into red hot oil;
hit the (expletive deleted) ball, I know it's hard to do,
but you're making millions, you get paid for what you do.

And get rid of (expletive deleted) Delcarmen, get someone to pitch,
get him out and keep him out, that lousy (expletive deleted)!
So, there you have it, that's my take on the game;
and I'm sure there are others, who feel the same.

Now the (expletive deleted) game is over, it's time to eat,
I can't stand to watch, when that (expletive deleted) team gets beat;
but, let's understand, it's just a game,
and it (expletive deleted) me off just the same.

So - now I'll get on, with the rest of my day,
and be interested in what others say;
I can get their take on tonight's game,
and probably most of them, feel the same.

Have a great day!

I think...

...I should continue along yesterday's lines,
because players in Sunday's game ought to pay fines;
the (expletive deleted) players didn't even try,
they just let Dice K down, hung him out to dry!

A total of seven hits, five men left on base,
as far as I can tell, they don't want to be in the race;
but, I should change the subject, say something nice,
just as soon as I suggest putting Francoma on ice.

Yes, his real name is Francona, but you see,
he's been medically induced, according to me;
how else would he allow, those guys in the game,
he must have been asleep, that's why I changed his name.

Now, a different subject, hmmmm, let me think.
Oh, did I ever tell you that the Red Sox stink?
Yes? Oh well, I guess maybe I did,
but have I ever mentioned, just how far they've slid?

Well, then, maybe tomorrow they might win a game,
but I think that maybe, they'll play just the same.
You see, there are problems, they don't know how to hit,
put the bat on the ball, they get paid to do it.

Maybe it's hard to play for a brain dead coach,
or maybe, just maybe, it's one too many roach. (wink, wink)
Whatever is the matter, please figure it out,
somebody, somewhere, must have some clout.

So, let's go push our buttons, do out pick me ups,
from reading books to feeding playful pups.
Just choose a color, or someplace to start,
use your own approach, make it an art.

And be kind to you neighbor, and have it planned,
that the next time you wave, you'll use your whole hand;
maybe they're different than you perceive yourself,
but it doesn't mean you should put them on a shelf.

Enjoy!

"He only limped, a little"....

...was their exact phrase,
about Kevin Youlikis, as a form of praise,
for playing injured, in last nights game,
I think Red Sox reasoning is pretty lame.

It's a good thing I opted for a 'no adult content' blog,
because there are words, not here, through which I could slog,
like "now they've gone and done it, %^&#%*&, something like that,
I'm an old sailor, that stuff's old hat.

An injured list that's growing, standings sinking too,
there's really not a lot, that a Red Sox fan can do,
accept managements lame stories, don't put them in the bank,
we must wait until October, and see, then, how they rank.

But, in the meantime, we have things to do,
either pushing buttons, or pushing kids through schoo(l)...
so what is your pleasure, dirty faces or the tabs?
Guess I'll do the latter, I'll have better habs.  (habits)

Enjoy :)

Let's add...

...to the misery of the Red Sox fan,
an injured Kevin Youkilis, as part of the plan,
limping off the field, with an ankle sore,
what more could happen? What more?

Of course "they" say, it's not too bad,
but I'll bet he doesn't play today, that's sad,
bring the injured total to eleven, wow!
Pretty soon the new pitcher may be a cow!

They're running out of people, and it's only July,
and all the fan can do, is wonder why, why, why.
Well we all need to hang in there, it can't get any worse,
until they start dragging players, out in a hearse.

So, hmmmm, let's see, to keep out spirits up,
let's go push some buttons, and feed a hungry pup,
or give some reading lessons, or a mammogram,
how about that? Does it sound like a plan?

Live and Let Live!

It looks...

...as if the time is here,
for the injuries to spoil your beer,
the Red Sox look to be going downhill,
in a fast slide, they've lost their will.

Four players on a nine man team,
at least that's the way they make it seem;
but the corps that's leading the big slide,
the bullpen, I'm not sure that they're on our side.

What a way to wake up, when midnight roars,
it's the second thing I check, the baseball scores;
at times it can be a sickening sight,
especially when things aren't going right.

from half a game out, now it's more,
a terrible sight, for eyes that are sore;
long we have suffered, back in the past,
here's to hope: The slide won't last.

Enjoy your day - stay cool!

Wide awake....

...but, not ready to go,
wait for the coffee to put on a show,
just read that the Red Sox won last nights game,
and the poor Yankees lost. Oh! What a shame.

Thats put's the Sox one game out of first,
even with injuries, when they should be worst.
The guys filling in do a whale of a job,
except Okijima, doesn't pitch, just a lob.

Now the bad news, since you must hear both,
that much maligned printer, soon will be toast;
it's being replaced and that's quite soon,
I'll kick the old one over the moon!

The "customer center" out there is a joke,
they have no ideas to fix, maybe give it a coke?
Always the answers just the same stuff,
none of which works, maybe I'll get tough.

I have informed Kodak of my good news,
I'll buy new, but it won't be one of youse!
It's disappointing in the real sense,
but, I was the one willing to jump the fence.

Guess I'll go and push buttons, clear my mind,
I'm always amazed, read the stories and find...
..a happy ending, plus, you're doing good,
or maybe we're doing just what we should.

Have a wonderful day!

It has...

...been alleged that the Red Sox played a game...
...last night, but maybe we should change the name,
I don't think they played at all, but players were in the park;
and an alleged manager, also in the area, was on some kind of lark.

When the end came in inning number nine,
the Sox used an outfielder to pitch, he did not do fine;
maybe they should use the machine that throws the balls,
and then the Yankees could put more beyond the walls!

Well, it is a downer, when I get up at night,
to fine another loss, they've lost the will to fight,
"wait until next year" will be a familar cry,
as Boston watches ball after ball enter the outfield sky!

So I think I'll take a walk, a small one is in order,
that means stopping short or the Canadian border;
that would be too far, my knees would rebel,
so I'll just hang around and watch, the Sox decent into Hell.

Let's try a different track, try to cleanse the mind,
and do some good for others, and I think I'll find...
...that it may help me, and much as it helps them,
when I push those buttons, it's a clue! Ahem, ahem.

Crazy!...

...sleeping hours have finally done me in,
when I go to bed, I don't know when I'll be up again;
last night I got up it was just after eight,
I may have been confused, went back to bed and got up late.

I have no idea what made me think,
or, do you suppose, I've gone over the brink?
I'll be darned, if I have a clue,
so I'll just live with it, it's all I can do.

Other than my "sleep" things everythings okay,
so...I'll take a little walk, and it's a Hollie Day;
I did the list she gave me, got things up to snuff,
but there are only 4 things - you know that's not enough.

Now the coffees ready, I'm really need a cup,
maybe that will help me know which end is up.
But, alas, it decaf, no brain jarring drug;
so what good does it do, to chug-a-lug?

Well, it tastes like coffee, I guess that's okay,
and I'll have a "real" cup, later on today.
So I'll go and look up the game score,
wondering if the Red Sox can win anymore.

No, they lost, three to one's the final,
left the pitcher in too long, his arm turned to vinyl.
They let him throw too many times,
and the Texas bats just rung his chimes.

It didn't help that the team, only had six hits, out of thirty-one at bats;
kind of makes me wonder, what they've got beneath their hats,
but baseball is a game - that often goes astray,
or maybe, just maybe, they have to learn to play.

I think I'll start the day off right, I have buttons on my mind,
yes, you know the ones of the electronic kind;
push each different tab, they can easily be seen,
and you know and I do, second in on the right is green.

Please don't turn your back if a stranger comes, please break the ice,
maybe he needs to shake a hand, say hello and be nice.
There's no need to shut them out, do your "duty chores",
simply welcome them and say this chair is yours!

Enjoy.

Baseball...

...ain't for sissies, if you're a Red Sox fan,
because what they're doing can't be in the plan,
but if they had a hitting coach that knew what to do,
maybe they could hit the ball, at least a time or two.

If pitchers could pitch the way the should,
and strike out batters, if only they could;
maybe they could win a game,
the present product is terribly lame!

Enough about those Beantown clowns,
but it stresses me out watching their ups and downs;
knowing there's nothing that I can do,
and knowing that you can't do too.

It's kind of chilly outdoors and in,
our thermostat has taken a whim,
to not perform it's single task,
a little heat is all I ask.

And so life goes on, and rightfully so,
batters can't bat, and pitchers can't throw;
and now I'm sitting in a chilly room,
but I know things will get better soon.

So, I guess, while in that frame of mind,
I'll think less of me and do something kind,
push a few buttons, and look what it's for;
a few short seconds - can mend a war.

There's a recommended approach to take,
when trying to overcome lifes rough wake;
don't try to do stuff in a backwards fashion,
First Things First - an importand lesson.

Smile! - we didn't bet money on that team!

It's Monday...

...as promised, so that makes me glad,
meeting time and coffee, miss it and be sad.
The floor is getting started, we can hardly wait,
because when it's finished, it's going to be great.

Add in the Celtics win, barely by a thread,
and then the Red Sox on the Yankees tread,
what more could I have asked for, I wonder out loud,
there really isn't much standing in the crowd.

So, there, now I'm happy, well almost anyway,
but the weathers perfect, well okay, okay;
no need to be a grouch when nice things come around,
be very grateful you're still above the ground.

I think I'll push some buttons and some little good,
push them all just the way your mama says you should,
it doesn't matter in which order just do a few,
but really do them all, you can start with blue.

Coffees good!

Tuesday...

...already? How can that be?
Why didn't anyone tell me?
No! Wait a minute, now I know,
it was Monday an hour or so ago.

Got up at ten forty-five, mistake!
Watched the Red Sox to the end, mistake!
How in heck could they lose?
Sometimes I think that's how the choose.

Walking yesterday was half or normal,
trying to help that foot be less formal;
it didn't give me any trouble,
but it'll be next week before I double.

Push the purple button, there,
show those critters that you care.
And be nice to your neighbors too,
treat them, like you want them to treat you.

Want to put you life on a different tack?
Maybe feel more human, is that what you lack?
Or, maybe you just need to let go of what's holding you back;
It works if you work it, keep coming back!

There is no....

....way of knowing what you will find,
if you keep your eyes open as well as your mind.
But I never thought I'd see a reason,
for the Sox to just end the season.

I was up at eleven fifteen,
and that score was the first thing seen.
The Sox have to learn to bat again,
and it won't happen with Magadan.

Yesterday with Hollie went very well,
she was happy and I could tell,
she had things to encase and more,
wait 'til you hear, that final score.

There were six project at the beginning,
but wait there's more, must be a big inning.
Two more pages, and a very large poster;
might as well put my wallet in a toaster.

The total bill for doing all that,
could put your brain right through you hat,
but if you just stop and reason,
you'd know Hollie is getting ready for the season.

And, oh yes, before I forget,
one more thing she has to get.
It's a bag, it has Kermit and peace signs to boot,
and lots of room to put her loot.

So she was happy as we headed for home,
with plans for next Friday when she wants to roam,
over to Target and WalMart we'll look,
for some thing she saw in some book.

But while we were busy thinking of that,
you know, maybe, she could use a new hat.
one from New Hampshire, sure would look nice;
oh Dad! I'll just put the others on ice.

Just one more thing, before I go,
go click that big purple button, and you will know,
that you have made a difference today,
then you can take off and play.

Be sure to remember, that there are those,
who need your help with food and with clothes.
Recycle, reuse take care of the earth,
and exercise is important to your girth.

Be always watchful as well as kind,
it will bring you much peace of mind.
Just Keep It Simple, that's a good rule,
it'll keep your mind open, while giving you fuel.

Have a great day!

Monday, August 3, 2009

Yep....

...I'm back on whatever time I'm on,
there's nothing to do but yawn;
from time to time and that's just fine,
a long as sleep I get is mine.

Yesterday turned out nice,
it was quiet around our house;
I got in some walking, four and a half miles,
back to small hills now, changing styles.

I spent the afternoon with TV;
the Red Sox were nice to me,
they won the game in great fashion,
it was nice to see them play with passion.

Today promises to be quiet to,
if Linda take Peggy to do,
to shopping and lab work, and the bank too,
while I sit a home, oh, boo hoo!

But I'll miss going to my meeting,
of which Monday attendance is fleeting,
but there is hope for going tomorrow for sure,
after all it's not like there's a cure.

So I have to remember to live in today,
that's the best we can do anyway,
Live and Let Live, is one golden rule,
more than that it's a useful tool.

Push the big purple button to feed,
all the dogs and the cats that are in need.
Push it and do them a favor,
you have what it takes, good neighbor.

Have a great day!

Thursday, July 30, 2009

Yesterday....

....was quiet, there's not too much to say,
maybe it will get better, but maybe not today.
I did my walking early, it's hotter than you know what,
and made it to my meeting, so my mind will not be shut.

I didn't watch the end, of the game last night,
maybe it's almost time, to give up on the fight.
Could be better for my health, to go out and throw some rocks.
Yes, yes much better than watching those damn Sox!

Be kind to the critters, and to other people too,
Do it! Do it! It will feel so good to you!
Remember to Keep it Simple, that's the Golden Rule,
do unto others as you would have them do to you.

Live and Let Live and have a wonderful day!

Important note

I speak, read and write in two languages, English and Vulgar; because I limit myself to English on this blog, I will refrain from writing about the Red Sox today. I got up at 10:00PM and watched the end of the game, 'nuff said!!

Yesterday I wanted to walk,
and I wanted to walk a lot.
So I set off with a smile,
and a nice quick first mile.

And in the I found that;
I shouldn't have worn a hat.
I started at five in the morning,
and fog came in without warning.

It was damp, it was muggy and cool,
walking three miles in that, takes a fool.
But I completed the walk sans hat.
It was hot after all and that's that.

Today I hope to do better,
if the weather is not any wetter (not a sure bet, is it?)
I'd like to go a mile or two,
maybe just go for more than a few.

Whatever turns out to be true,
I'll be done before the sky turns blue.
Get a good early start,
I like that part.

After all it will be my afternoon!!

Be kind to our fur bearing friends
push the big purple button!

Have a great day!

There must be..

...an explanation for this loss,
the blame lies right with the boss.
Heaven knows he didn't try,
Left the team hung out to dry.
So he just let a good team lose,
now what are we supposed to choose?

Is he paid by the Yankees? or a crime boss?
How else can you explain this loss?
Leave in a guy who's going downhill,
giving us all a real bitter pill,
He thinks the loss is really neato,
We've got to get rid of the awful Tito!

The man is a jerk, it's time to pass...
this guy on, he's a real horses ass!
He sits and grins and fools around,
while "his" team is run in the ground.
What is his real evil plan?
Or is it just that he don't give a damn?

That's enough of that stuff,
but it rubs me rough,
I think I will no longer choose,
to watch my favorite team lose.
I won't look up the stats, standings or score,
let somebody else do that horrific chore!

Well, leave all this stuff, to someone who cares,
Maybe somebody in Chicago who watches the Bears.
Not much will change the divergent way,
and everyone knows Tito will stay.
I might as well get used to this jerk,
or when the Sox are on, do some other work!

Please don't forget to take time to push,
the big purple button, don't sit on your tush!
and be good to your neighbors, they may be your friend,
or to the family, who lives 'round the bend.
If we're good to each other, and show that we care.
It'll make life worth living and easy to bear.

Have a great non-rainy day!

Friday, July 17, 2009

It's me again....

...I say with a laugh,
beat yesterdays time by a half,
Ten thirty just happens to beat,
ten, at least by three feet.
It's still quite a riddle,
to get up in the middle.

When the news is on at eleven,
most people are in a sleep heaven
But little ol' me
is there to see.
Whatever it is that they're havin'

Today is a day of Hollie,
who is practiced by golly,
in getting things done,
she watches out for number one.
And won't settle for folly.

The plastic is applied with heat,
like a sandwich with bread and meat.
It will be her personal prize,
gazed on by her singular eyes.
Her pleasure would be hard to beat.

Walking yesterday totaled five,
I was glad that I was alive,
as by walking the road
it took off a load,
of weight and that is no jive.

It's time to Live and let Live,
and food to the critters do give.
They will meow and give a big yelp,
In thanks to you for your help,
just push the button to give!

Bye.

Asleep...

...at the wheel, slept in today until 11PM! By the way Asleep at the Wheel is a terrific musical group, especially their Ride with Bob CD, I love it. Well I managed four and a half miles yesterday and have at least three or four planned for this morning (early).

The Red Sox won again, the dreaded Yankers lost and, and, and that puts Boston 3 games in front of those others who shall remain nameless.

Other than the walk and a meeting I don't have much planned for today, work on a painting would help a lot, there are three I'm on so I better get busy.

Easy Does It, feed the critters please (it's free and it's easy)
