Cross between a noodle and the moon?

It's named for the moon coming over the hill,
you just see the top and it gives you a thrill.
We all have a part of the very same moon,
and it always looks like it will all be up soon.

 

It's named for the Luna a name we all know
and it's only real purpose seems to be show.
It's right at your finger tips or very near so,
the Lunule is on your nails.  It stays as they grow.
