No laughing matter!

I must have been very sleepy,
didn't even get up to go pee,
I am still in shock,
a deep mental block;
and I'm feeling almost weepy.

My feet didn't go pitter-patter,
and there's no sense in this blather,
there is just no excuse,
and this is no ruse.
This is no laughing matter!

Just a couple of things

End of the line
Photo: NASA
The photo above was released by NASA.  It shows the (former) USS Constellation being towed around Cape Horn on the way to a scrap yard.  The tug is also shown and you can see the cable being used between the two vessels.  I think that now every ship that was commissioned during my Navy career is gone.  I could be wrong about that because I don't have any lists to go by,  I am sure about aircraft carriers.  Hell Wilbur and I are scrap now too, in a way.
The photo below takes some careful reading.  But you can do it.  Click these photos to enlarge.

What am I doing?

Photo: Linda Grant, 2012
Well, I missed yesterday because, I didn't oversleep there just was no internet connection.  You need to be online to blog, for the most part.
Tuesday was another busy, busy day.  I went to coffee at 4:30, home after shopping for a couple of things at 7.  At 8:15 I took a woman in to Bangor and then picked up my guys.  After lunch we went to our regular meeting and I took them home.
I picked up Hollie at 2:30 and we ate at Bugaboo Creek where I was given a $10 gift certificate because I had a military ID, I also got a free sandwich at Subway at lunch time.  Hollie and I went to Target and then to Staples (of course), and I took her home, it was about 6pm.
Yesterday I got my new glasses and Linda had her eye exam and ordered hers.  We ate at Jason's New York Pizza for a terrific lunch, with enough left over for supper!
  See ya!

He doesn't dodge Dodges

1946 Dodge Business Coupe
Photo: Mike Berry, The Wichita Eagle
This little coupe has been altered, it's got a Hemi!  Owner Sean Fischer has other plans in mind too.  This will be a road machine that will be hard to keep up with.  What else does Mr. Fischer have to offer?  Take a look.

Now this is a pretty machine, all original but restored inside and out.  This was, in it's day, a dream machine, but affordable.  Smooth ride, Mr. Fischer!

Deciding to shave. Or, not.

I'm beginning to wonder if I should shave,
or grow another beard that won't behave.
I've not decided on which way to go,
shave it all off, or just let it grow.

I guess either way it wouldn't look too cool,
just an old matted thatch on an old fool.
Or, maybe, just maybe, this one would work,
and not make me look like an old fashioned jerk.

So, which will it be; bald or a tree,
now I'm thinking....should I let it be.
I need to decide sometime today,
leave it or lose it.  Well I'll have my say.

And here is something that should have been included yesterday.  If I'd have thought of it.

The bacon was cooked

My coffee pals and I went to a Hunters Breakfast yesterday at 4:30AM.  I won't say where to avoid embarrassing anyone, it was more than horrible but less than near-good.
I had spotted a road sign a few days before and told them about and we decided to go.  Now, a Hunters Breakfast is typically hearty with beans, bacon or sausage, eggs, biscuits, coffee and do-nuts, this one had some of those things.  There were undercooked eggs and potatoes, overcooked biscuits, no do-nuts and so-so coffee.  But the bacon was cooked.
I ordered scrambled eggs and sausage and got over easy eggs (kind of cold).  But the bacon was cooked.
We aren't going there again even if the bacon was cooked.
