Pain and strain

We were just hanging around have coffee,
when the pain snuck up and hit my knee,
and I tried to stand up to straighten it out,
then I discovered pain had a lots of clout.

When I get a "crick" on the back of my neck,
it's the best I can do, just to give it heck.
And those cramps that get my feet every night,
they're out there looking to see if I've got fight.

It's not easy being a geezer, and I've been one for a while,
now instead of walking five I settle for one mile.
And the doctors visits come closer than ever before,
we get to see him, if we figure out that automatic door.

There is pain in places both high and low,
from the tips of my fingers to my elbow.
Pain seems to happen in many parts,
right down to the part that farts!

I get ideas

I like this...a lot!
I have ideas sometimes when I lay in bed,
you can't imagine what come in to my head.
Thoughts about things that I have done,
and some of those were lots of fun.

Thoughts of things that I might do,
and some of those would surprise even you.
Oh, the crazy thoughts that go on in there,
my brain and I, what a wonderful pair.

Number one

From Facebook
The Boston Red Sox took care of business and won game one.  Don't get too excited because it's only one win, a team needs four wins.  I have no doubt that Boston will prevail and win the World Series; but that's only my opinion.
How about the PPACA (Patient Protection Affordable Care Act) Computer software?  I remember here in Maine a few years ago the State bought software for MaineCare (Medicaid) billing and nothing worked right, providers didn't get paid - it was a full blown mess.  There is a similarity of the two.  Governments seem to have a problem picking a contractor that knows what to do, the Request for Proposals may be written badly, or the contractor may not understand English.  I don't know.  This glitch will cause untold problems and probably will never work as intended.
Rant over.  I realize this is day two with mostly the same subject.  I object to the way this problem is being handled.  Wilbur I hear you buddy.

Should I use a different label

Coos Canyon, Swift River in Byron, Maine

Well, there's one location in Maine where you can pan for gold.  Good luck with that!  But, people do find little bits.
The World Series starts tonight, after my bedtime unfortunately.  The Red Sox "could have" better pitching than the Cardinals.  See quote marks.  It will be a six game affair, winner unknown to me.
I'm wondering if I should use a different label, that song starts up every time I type Ram... then it fills automatically, or do I need "professional help"?  It's probably too late for that anyway.
If you've been following the Affordable Care Act software fiasco are you thinking like me that the United States Government should have been able to find a competent contractor to build a web site?  On the other hand, probably it went to the lowest bidder; who turned out to be a fourth grader.  Yep!

Things you've already seen

Photo CBS/AP
Here's a guy who thought he knew how to party.  He attended a party, guessing for Halloween, and drank at lot too much.  He was in costume when he was arrested.
Drinking a driving are problematic, just ask me, I have read that on any given day as many as 3 out of 10 drivers are impaired.  On holiday weekends those odds are 7 out of 10 drivers impaired.  And all this was before texting and heavy cell phone use.  Drive at your own risk.

And just when we thought everyone was equal, but it is something we already knew.

Rambling fever

I tried that title today because right now I've got that song playing in my head.  I think it was Merle Haggard that sang it - but I'm not sure.  The singer had Rambling Fever in his soul, that would make him my equal.  That's why I made a career of the Navy, I got to ramble a bit then.
Before I was married, and I was in this country, I used to hitchhike some weekends just to see what was there, places like Pismo Beach (California) or Cannon Beach (Oregon) or even Salt Lake City.  I wouldn't dare to hitchhike into Bangor now, too dangerous. Times change and we change with them.
Funny spellcheck gave "countersunk" as a replacement of Kenduskeag.

One more time, at least!

I, of course, slept through all but the first inning.  And of course I'm excited by the win.  And, of course, I know the Red Sox beat the Cardinals in four straight games to win the World Series in 2004.  I also know the Red Sox won three games against the Cards in inter-league play this year.  The Sox have their number.
As an aside the Red Sox third baseman Xander Bogaerts last night became the youngest player, 21, in Red Sox history to play in the post season since Babe Ruth - also 21 with an earlier birth date.
