Who's afraid of Virginia?

Virginia

Virginia is a moose who, unfortunately, has taken up residence on Gott Island, Maine.  Gott Island is about one mile offshore of Mount Desert Island home of Acadia National Park.  There's no ferry service so Virginia must have gotten there by swimming.
The trouble is she has a fondness for the fruit and trees one resident is preserving in a 100 year old orchard.  She eats the apples and cherries but also has eaten the graftings done to preserve the old strain of fruit.
Everyone leaves the island in the winter and with most of the vegetation bare it is thought that Virginia might swim back to the mainland.
Virginia was name for Virginia Woolf who needed an island to herself in fiction.
